Job Description

Google LLC is opening job post of Public Policy Manager, Google Cloud.

Location: Gurugram, Haryana, India

Responsibilities

  • Advise on key privacy, security, trust, and content related issues for Google Cloud, as well as on regulatory matters surrounding industry verticals such as financial services, government, and healthcare.
  • Engage with government officials, trade associations, industry partners, non-profit groups and a select group of Google Cloud customers to support the formation of cloud policy.
  • Develop content to articulate Google Cloud posture on critical regulatory issues.
  • Support the Cloud Policy team with research on emerging issues, impact assessments, planning activities, internal and external communication tools, as well as the organization of outreach and events.
  • Engage Google Cloud internal stakeholders in Engineering, Product Management, Legal, Marketing, Policy, PR, and
  • Sales to help ensure that our products and services address the expectations of regulatory authorities worldwide.

Eligibility

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 12 years of experience working in national politics, government, think tanks, non-profit, or corporate public policy.
  • Policy experience in the technology sector and key challenges impacting the internet.

Preferred qualifications

  • Legal background and international experience working with high-tech regulators, standards bodies, policy-makers, and regulated industries is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in public policy and knowledge of challenges impacting cloud computing.
  • Experience with privacy, trust, compliance, and security from technical, regulatory, and commercial perspectives.
  • Ability to write and translate complex issues into a language suitable for technical and non-technical audiences.
