About the Organisation

Zenith is a not-for-profit organisation that works towards the social and legal empowerment of the Sahariya community, a particularly vulnerable tribal group (PVTG), in Madhya Pradesh.

Zenith supports the Sahariyas in reclaiming their agency and assists them in their journey of attaining complete empowerment and self-reliance by mitigating socio-legal barriers through initiatives including evidence-based research, litigation, and strategic advocacy.

About the Position

Zenith Society for Socio Legal Empowerment (hereinafter ‘Zenith’) is looking to hire for two leadership positions:

  1. Lead, Land Rights
  2. Lead, Mool Suvidha & Financial Inclusion

Location

Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh with travel to Sheopur and Shivpuri, also in Madhya Pradesh.

Eligibility

  • Demonstrated commitment to working with disadvantaged groups or communities.
  • An undergraduate degree in law, social sciences or allied disciplines is necessary.
  • 4-5 years of experience in conducting research, policy analysis, and/ or advocacy in the rights-based or development sector.
  • Strong understanding of how public delivery systems function, particularly in relation to welfare schemes and tribal development policies, is a must.
  • Prior experience in a supervisory role is necessary.
  • Prior experience in liaisoning with partner organisations as well as with donor organisations is preferred.
  • Prior work experience with and/ or knowledge of challenges faced by PVTGs in accessing basic services and financial systems or comparable experience is preferred.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills are essential. Must be proficient in both English and Hindi.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement programmes, projects, and work plans
  • Lead a team comprising diverse individuals in identifying and resolving structural issues while simultaneously responding to urgent community needs
  • Supervise operations and research
