About the Event

The Debating Society of Lloyd Law College “DebSoc” is organizing “Verbatim 3.0” which is a battle of words where you put your thoughts in sentences and initiate a debate to foster healthy competition. This student initiative of Lloyd is an effort to promote a structured debating culture in India.

The National Conventional Debate Competition is an important educational tool that encourages critical thinking, effective communication and a knowledgeable debate among students throughout the country. The competition provides a forum for some of the brightest young people to debate contemporary constitutional, social, political and legal issues of local and global importance.

Eligibility

  • The competition is open to all undergraduate and postgraduate students from recognised institutions across India.
  • The competition shall be conducted in the Conventional Debate Format.
  • Each team will consist of two speakers — one speaking for the motion and one speaking against the motion.
  • Participants will be evaluated on content, structure, rebuttal and delivery.

  • Prize Pool up to ₹60,000.
  • Certificates shall be awarded to all participants.
