ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY

The Central University of South Bihar was established in 2009 under the Central University Act. The School of Law and Governance is a 7-year-old department that strives to provide a platform to the students to imbibe the pragmatic skills of law and this event will be one such attempt to create a stimulating atmosphere of debating culture.

ABOUT THE EVENT

The Parliamentary Debate Committee of School of Law and Governance of the Central University of South Bihar is delighted to officially invite you to the 1 st edition of the “1st CUSB National Parliamentary Debate Competition 2020” which is scheduled for 29th March 2020 to 31st March 2020.

The committee aims to mould well informed and aware citizen of the country and embark the culture of debate and room of discourse, dissent, and discussion in the student community. Parliamentary debate is an integral part of law school which develops and enhances the communication skills, argument framing capabilities and reasoning ability among the students.

FORMAT

Asian Parliamentary Debate: 3 on 3 format, with n+1 rule per institutional team (i.e. n= number of teams and n+1 = number of adjudicators) allotted on first come first serve basis.

ELIGIBILITY

All the students who are enrolled under any recognized institution (school/ colleges/universities) can participate in the debate competition.

PRIZES

Winning Team: Rs. 20,000/- + Trophy + Certificate
Runner up Team: Rs.10, 000/- + Trophy + Certificate
Best Adjudicator: Rs. 8000/- + Trophy + Certificate
Best Speaker: Rs. 5000/- + Trophy + Certificate

REGISTRATION AND FEE DETAIL

The registration fee for the debate is INR 2000 per participant and INR 1500 per adjudicator inclusive of transport, food and lodging for three days and a fantabulous Break Night.

Cross-teams and independent adjudicators are also invited to participate in the competition.

Participation and Awards.
