Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law is organising a National Consultation-cum-Symposium On: Court-Referred Mediation and Pre-Institution Mediation: Issues and Challenges
The undue delay in adjudication of litigation has created a space for an alternate mechanism for dispute resolution. Amongst several other tools of Alternative Dispute Resolution, mediation presents a more viable option on account of the engagement of parties in a dispute in an adversarial system.
Needless to say, mediation has emerged as a potential tool to reduce the ballooning pendency of litigation. The success of mediation depends upon a range of factors such as trained mediators, informed litigants and infrastructure.
The aim of the two days National Consultation-cum-Symposium is to explore the contours of court-referred mediation and pre-institution mediation in India, identify the issues and challenges in implementing mediation as a tool for adjudication and increase awareness among the legal fraternity of the potentiality of mediation as an important aspect of ADR in India.
The National Consultation cum Symposium will have speakers from the Judiciary, Government, Academia and Mediation Centres.
Attendees will be given a certificate of participation.
