About the institution

The Indian Society of Artificial Intelligence & Law (ISAIL) is the premier law-tech think-tank in India, which for the first time, lays its embarkment into developing the field of AI and Law. Founded in 2018, the Society focuses on the academic areas of Artificial Intelligence and Law to institute and provide legal, technical and social solutions to understand and disseminate the field of AI & Law at its practical reality.

About the Journal

The Indian Learning is a special magazine that features efforts to encourage articles and pieces in the field of AI, Business Ethics, Law and Tech as a whole. We publish our position statements, general updates and further developments that are connected with the ecosystem of artificial intelligence ethics.

Theme

The themes for accepting articles and other pieces are not limited to the following:

  1. AI Ethics and International Law
  2. AI and Society
  3. AI and Business Ethics
  4. AI and Culture
  5. AI and Medicinal Sciences
  6. AI and Philosophy
  7. AI and Constitutional Law

We publish three main types of articles: Commentary Pieces, Research Briefings and Policy Reviews, in English only.

Commentary Pieces are smaller, less in-depth pieces and form the bulk of the Society’s work.

  • They revolve around current affairs and seek to show diverse viewpoints on certain topics of interest;
  • They should be between 800 and 1200 words, not including footnotes or bibliography;
  • The style is up to the writers themselves and should reflect the commentary that the writer wishes to give;

Opinion Pieces can be accepted under certain circumstances.

Research Briefings and Policy Reviews are in-depth research pieces that represent the backbone of the Institute:

  • These must be more substantial, researched pieces which look at current or past policy, review it and analyse the subject in detail, providing new ideas to the subject;
  • They should be between 1500-2000 words and include an abstract.
  • The style should be more professional and academic but remain easily fluid and readable.

The citation style is uniform and footnotes are highly recommended.

  • We expect non-plagiarised, non-political and unbiased academic submissions.
  • After submission, you will receive a receipt of confirmation.
