Akhil Bhartiya Adhivakta Parishad held its National Executive Meeting on 11th and 12th July 2020 at virtual space, and has adopted two resolutions.

The first resolution demands to the central government to issue  appropriate directions to  the Nationalised Banks to provide loans at concessional rate of interest to  the needy advocates to mitigate the hardships due to Corona.

The ABAP held in its resolution that lawyers are hailed as the defense of social order and Justice and this very community is finding it difficult to sustain itself.

The Lawyers especially trial court lawyers are facing serious financial crisis due to COVID-19. Without lawyers dispute resolution mechanism like courts are not functional. In the month of June 2020 ABAP has submitted a representation to the central finance minister to this effect.

The resolution further demands to the central government that it should allot and transfer sufficient amount to Central Bar Council for providing financial assistance to needy lawyers. It also demands to the state governments which have not provided any money to state bar council till today for financial assistance of lawyers should immediately disburse sufficient amount to the respective state bar council for financial assistance.

In the other resolution Akhil Bhartiya Adhivakta Parishad has also demanded for the basic infrastructure to discharge the vital functions, E-filing, E-hearing, video conferencing and for traditional infrastructure too in the courts especially in the trial courts . Lack of  library, spacious court hall, unfilled vacancies including stenographers and other staffs, copy machines etc have crippled the functioning of justice delivery system.

ABAP also highlighted the issue of lack of medical facility. ABAP held that due to lack of medical facility in the Court premises some lawyers, staff have lost their precious  life. ABAP demanded for the establishment of medical dispensaries at all Court centers at least at District level including High Courts.
