The British Institute for International and Comparative Law (BIICL) is collaborating with the Center for AI and Data Governance (CAIDG) of the Singapore Management University on a series of webinars on ‘Law and Change’.

Law and Change is a series designed to discuss how global crises are changing law and how law and legal services can assist in the orderly management of global change. This webinar is organized by Prof. Eva Lein, Director of the Centre of Comparative Law of BIICL, and Prof. Mark Findlay, Director of the CAIDG.

The topic for the webinar – ‘LawGPT?: Using AI to Modernize Judicial Systems, Legal Practices and the Future of Legal Work’

The event will be looking at the present and future of AI, especially machine learning, in the legal sector. The discussion will address state-of-the-art current applications of AI to research, analyze and apply law and regulations.

The discussion will then focus on the futures of judges, lawyers, and clients in particular areas of law where AI is changing legal information processing, decision-making and even law-making. Specific research experience and practice applications will feature. Eventually, the discussion will consider the potential impacts of AI laws and regulations on legal professions.
