On Friday, Supreme Court refused to stay High Court of Delhi's verdict and stated that Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung would continue to exercise primacy in matters of administration in the National Capital Delhi.Apex Court Bench of Justice A K Sikri and Justice N V Ramana expounded that called the matter important which required an authoritative pronouncement from the Apex Court and thus it declined to put Kejriwal and his ministers back in the driving seat till the final decision.
The matter has been fixed for November 15, the court has expressed its reluctance by taking note of the circulars and instructions issued that have been issued by the LG after the Delhi High Court's verdict last month and stated that not every order issued would become part of the present dispute and should be challenged separately.
The two-judge bench of the Apex Court that it was absolutely mindful of previous judgments and that it might even consider referring the matter to the larger bench on the next date of hearing.
It has also asked Centre to file counter affidavits, if any, within"period of four weeks while AAP government will have two weeks to respond thereafter.
