Regional Transport Offices (RTOs) in Tamil Nadu will remain closed for Driving licence applicants till March 31.

Transport Minister MR Vijayabaskar said that this is done to stop crowding at these public places.

Even if applications were filed online, tests for issuing driving licences & learner's licence (LLR) won't be conducted temporarily.

As per official data, more than 5,000 licences & LLRs are issued daily in the state.

However, those who want to renew expired licences can approach RTOs.

Mr Vijayabaskar said instructions had been given to adjust temperature settings (reduce cooling), remove screens & stop distributing bedsheets/blankets in Private & Govt A/C buses to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Passengers have been advised to bring their own blankets.
