Chief Minister Adv. Welfare Scheme: HC directs Govt. to consider extending 2 week registration window for Unregistered Lawyers

It has been informed by Sh KC Mittal, Chairman, Bar Council of Delhi and Sh Sanjay Rathi, Co-Chairman, Bar Council of Delhi, that today in a hearing before Hon'ble Justice Prathiba M Singh, in petition filed by Bar Council Delhi to extend registration for lawyers who were unable to register in the deadline in Chief Minister Advocate Welfare Scheme.

HC Bench has directed the Govt. to consider extending a 2 week window for lawyers to register who could not register earlier.

As far as lawyers who have already registered, Bench directed Governement to complete process and grant insurance policies. 

Next date of hearing has been fixed for 28 August.

Sh. Sanjay Rathi stated that,"Hopefully the window reopens now. For those in Delhi but could not register. NCR Advocates issue there will a discussion to resolve if not will be taken up finally on that date".

 It is further added by Sanjay Rathi Co-Chairman that,"BCD has always endeavored to fight for rights of each enrolled advocate with it & will not left any stone unturned for getting all benefits for advocates & further ensure that none if the advocates shall be deprived of any benefits".
