The Central Government of India has assented for the appointment of Justice Sujoy Paul, senior most Judge of the Calcutta High Court as the acting Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court.
The notification issued by the Law Ministry notifies that “In exercise of the powers conferred by Article 223 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri Justice Sujoy Paul, Judge of the Calcutta High Court, to perform the duties of the office of the Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court consequent upon appointment of Shri Justice Soumen Sen, Judge of the Calcutta High Court as Chief Justice of the High Court of Meghalaya.”
