April,17,2017:

The sting operation showed several senior TMC leaders allegedly receiving money in return for favours.

After the Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) registered an FIR against twelve senior Trinamool Congress leaders in connection with Narada sting operation case, on Monday West Bengal's CM Mamata Banerjee asserted that politics was being played over this sting operation & said that her party “will fight it out politically”.

CM Mamata Banerjee also said that merely filing FIR against her party's leaders doesn't establish their guilt.

She told reporters at state secretariat that "there's no cause for any worry.”

Mukul Roy, Madan Mitra & Saugata Roy were among the twelve leaders against whom the FIR has been filed in connection to sting operation, in which senior leaders allegedly received money in return for favors.

On 17th March, the Calcutta HC had directed CBI to probe into this sting operation, ordering it to take possession of all the devices & material related to this sting before concluding the preliminary inquiry within 72 hrs.

Dismissing the case, CM Mamata Banerjee had earlier delineated this controversy as an attempt to malign her party & accused Centre of hatching this conspiracy to stop TMC from emerging as a strong contender against the BJP in politics.                                                                                                                                                                          With inputs from PTI
