Bizarre: Advocate appears in 'baniyan' before HC, Court directs advocates should maintain decorum in proceedings via Video Conference. Read Order

In astonishing incident, Rajasthan HC was left perplexed when in a case being conducted video conference due to Lockdown, an advocate for the petitioner appeared before the Bench wearing just 'baniyan'.

A rather shocked HC Bench on the conduct of the advocate ordered the proceeding to be adjourned.

HC Bench stated in its order that even through video conferening a decorum of Court is to be maintained. Bench added that the High Court has already observed that in the proceeding done through video conferencing lawyers must appear in proper uniform.

Bench stated that the Advocates Act provides for lawyers to wear uniform while pleading case for their clients.
