Ashok Khemka IAS set to be a Lawyer, Tops Law Entrance Exam at Punjab University

He was transferred 46 times in 22 years of his service as IAS Officer.

Ashok Khemka, Senior IAS officer has reportedly topped the Law Entrance Test of Punjab University (PU) by securing 166.37 marks.

Khemka said that he was always interested in pursuing Law. He intend to join the evening course.He would take up Law as a Profession after his retirement. Amongst the 3,987 candidates who had appeared for LLB (3-year) entrance test at PU on June 19 PU released the provisional merit list for admission to the course for 2016-17 session Khemka was the Topper.. Khemka, who is a whistle blower in the Robert Vadra land deal case was transferred 46 times in 22 years of his service.

The 50-year-old IAS had grabbed headlines after he himself cancelled a controversial land deal involving Robert Vadra, Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law's firm and DLF in 2012.

In January this year was promoted to the post of principal secretary by the BJP Govt .

How ever in April 2015, Khemka was transferred by Haryana Government to the post of Secretary and Director General of the State Archaeology and Museums Department, which is considered to be a low-profile assignment.
