Institute of Public Health, Bengaluru is inviting applications for internships.The internship experience is expected to provide the candidates with the opportunity to:

• Expand their understanding of the field of public health.
• Sharpen research skills, especially literature search, qualitative data analysis and writing.
• Interact with various public health and legal professionals who practice on issues associated with public health.
• Explore the possibilities of interdisciplinary research within a larger public health paradigm.

Nature of Internship

Interns will be hosted within a Cluster on Public Policies and Chronic health Conditions and work in the DEEP project.

DEEP (Deciphering Epidemic of Epic Proportions: A Study on the Role of State and Tobacco Industry in Tobacco Control in Post-Liberalized India) is a long-term research project to better understand the political economy of tobacco in India.

Who can Apply?

Students enrolled in a recognized law program, early-career law graduates or early-career social science researchers with some grounding in legal studies.

Duration of Internship

The internship will be for a minimum period of two months, during which the interns are expected to work in coordination with and under guidance from the DEEP project team in analyzing legislation and litigations with tobacco as the issue of concern.

Stipend

Interns will be compensated for any project related travel/expenses and might be eligible for a nominal stipend.
