The IDIA project was initiated to reach out to marginalized and under-represented groups to sensitize them about law as a viable career option and help students from these communities to secure admission in India’s leading law colleges.
IDIA hopes that such access to legal education will pivot the empowerment of marginalized and underprivileged communities. IDIA is a pan-India law school movement, the cause of which Hyderabad Chapter at NALSAR hopes to further.
Increasing Diversity by Increasing Access to Legal Education (IDIA) Hyderabad is inviting applications for an internship from 18th March 2020 till 10th May 2020. The minimum duration of the internship is four weeks. Students can choose to intern for either six or eight weeks during the given time period.
The internship is open to students who are pursuing their bachelor’s degree or higher level of education. Interns are expected to work with the Training & Materials Team of the Hyderabad Chapter. They would be required to train IDIA trainees for CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) and other entrance examinations that open doors to legal education. This will entail teaching them Legal Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, English, General knowledge (both static and current) and Mathematics (up to the curriculum for 10th grade). Kindly note that IDIA trainees are either 11th or 12th standard students.
Interns are expected to work for 7-8 hours during weekdays (Monday-Saturday). This rule is however not set in stone and selected interns will be given some flexibility in timings if the need arises.
As of now, interns are expected to work at Sai Junior College for Visually Impaired, Begumpet and/or Government Junior College, Mulugu depending on preference and need.
A modest stipend will be paid to cover travel expenses.
