Kim Kardashian is headed back to court.
According to TMZ, the 38-year-old lawyer-in-training has filed a lawsuit against the company iHandy for using a copyrighted image of her without obtaining permission.
The image in question is a 2017 bathroom selfie taken by the reality star to promote her own KKW Beauty brand’s powder contour & highlight kits. Kardashian claims in the suit that the makeup app used the image of her to sell its own products.
She’s suing the company for $10 million in damages, which includes image copyright licensing & any profits made from the use of the photo.
According to the paperwork filed, “Defendant claims, absurdly, as its alleged defense … that they didn’t know that the unlicensed, unauthorized photo they knowingly stole & misappropriated was that of [Kim Kardashian West] … one of the most famous & recognizable women in the world.”
The lawsuit goes on to state that iHandy “even had the audacity to threaten [Kim Kardashian West] not to bring claims against them for their blatant infringement, or they would go after her.”
The mobile mogul previously sued fast fashion retailer Missguided earlier this year for using her likeness to promote knockoffs of her outfits, resulting in her being awarded $2.7 million in damages.
