ZUFFA files an application to get ‘UFC Ultimate Sound’ Trademarked!

On 17th October 2018 American sports Promotion Company; ZUFFA LLC parent entity of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) filed two trademark applications at the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) to protect the phrase ‘UFC Ultimate Sound’.

In the trademark application, ZUFFA has not attached any additional logo alongside the trademark but a list of products is enumerated that they have planned to associate with the phrase “UFC Ultimate Sound”.

The two applications were filed in Class 38(Telecommunications) and Class 9(Electronic and scientific apparatus) for the same phrase.

The Class 9 application includes computer software like database management software; computer software for use in playing, organizing, downloading, transmitting, manipulating, and reviewing audio and multimedia files, enabling transmission, storage, sharing, collection, editing, organizing and many more. The Class 38 application further involves streaming of audio and audiovisual material via electronic communications networks, local and global computer networks and wireless communications networks etc.

As of now, both the trademark applications for ‘UFC Ultimate Sound’ are awaiting examination by the USPTO and it would be interesting to see the outcome of this application.
