Craig Wright claims to be the Author of a White Paper on the Foundations of Bitcoin

An Australian computer scientist recently came forward claiming to be the creator of Bitcoin. This computer scientist was allowed to pursue with the anonymous operator of the website: bitcoin.org for the case of copyright infringement. Craig Wright is the person behind writing a white paper on the foundations of Bitcoin. Wright filed a legal suit against the anonymous operator. He filed the suit in the UK High Court. However, that anonymous operator of the website used the name Cobra for himself.

This world-famous white paper was published under the name of Satoshi Nakamoto in the year 2008. It is pertinent to mention here the true identity of Nakamoto is a matter of long debate. Wright on the other hand has recently made it official to the public that he himself is Nakamoto and even the author of the document. This document is known to outline the fundamental technology behind cryptocurrency.

Allegedly the purpose of this lawsuit is to obtain directions from the court to remove the white paper from bitcoin.org on the account of copyright infringement. In order to fulfill this purpose, Wright has to prove the fact that he himself is indeed the author of the document. Interestingly, the UK High Court granted permission for Wright to pursue the case this week only.

Cobra who is the anonymous publisher of the website somehow rejected all of such claims. It is still unknown whether this anonymous operator will reveal their identity to defend them in court. "We've been threatened to take down the Bitcoin white paper by someone who obviously isn't the inventor of Bitcoin (if he was, that would make him the 25th richest person in the world, which he obviously isn't),” Cobra said in an interview. "Seems like he's trying to abuse the UK courts to make them try to censor the white paper and harass small websites like us providing education content with his behavior," he further added.

The price of Bitcoin badly crashed on the day of April 23. It is reported that such a crash was seen after reaching a record-high earlier in this same month. Now, the value of a bitcoin stands below $50,000 for the first time since March. It has lost $15,000 in terms of its value since it hit the highest rate of $64,486 on April 14.
