Rewari Gangrape Case: Interim Compensation provided to Victim under Victim Compensation Scheme

Taking SUO MOTO of the various media reports in the case of gang rape with a girl of Rewari district in Kanina region, The Chief Judicial Magistrate and Secretary of District Legal Services Authority Vivek Yadav today met the victim and handed over a Cheque of Rs. 2 Lakh under the Haryana Victim Compensation Scheme-2013.This assistance is given under the supervision of Ajay Kumar Mittal, Justice Punjab and Haryana High Court and Executive Chairman Haryana State Legal Services Authority Panchkula.

Chief Judicial Magistrate and Secretary of District Legal Services Authority Narnaul, Sh. Vivek Yadav said that the team of two panel advocates has been given responsibility for all types of assistance in this matter to the victim and her family. The team will provide legal assistance to the victim besides counseling.

He informed that under Haryana Victim Compensation Scheme-2013, there is a provision for immediate interim relief to the victim. The rest of assistance is given after the decision of the case. This amount has been given to meet out the medical and other needs of victim. The District Legal Service Authority will also provide Legal assistance to them.

Sh. Yadav said that the family of the victim is passing through a major shock, so he has assigned responsibility to the Advocate panel for preparing all kinds of papers. He said that our first objective was to provide medical and legal aid to the victim
