AKRSP has initiated the Research Fellowship on Water Control for Tribal Community for the youth to take up highly relevant and policy-oriented research.
The Aga Khan Rural Support Programme is a private, non-profit organization, established by the Aga Khan Foundation in 1982 to help improve the quality of life of the villagers of Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral. It is a Non-Governmental Organization that is part of the Rural Support Programmes Network in Pakistan.
The Aga Khan Rural Support Programme, India (AKRSP (I)) is the sister agency of the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF). The focus of AKRSPI is on supporting marginalized communities’ economic development and environmental protection through community-based approaches to natural resource management (NRM) and livelihood enhancement at the village level. Particular focus is also put on facilitating wider learning and outreach at state and national levels.
The program currently works in over 2,800 villages, directly benefiting almost 1.6 million people, in the states of Bihar, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
The candidates applying should fulfill the following criteria:
Socially conscious youth in the age group of 18-30 who are sincere, passionate, and willing to contribute to their community with a fulltime commitment for ten months.
Youth who belong to tribal communities or have worked in rural areas will be given priority.
Rs. 20,000 per month to support basic needs.
Travel expenses will be reimbursed.
