The Centre for Economics, Law and Public Policy (CELP) at National Law University, Jodhpur (NLUJ) is pleased to announce the 1st NLUJ CELP Online Essay Writing Competition, 2025, organized in collaboration with Erudite Legal.
NLUJ is one of India’s premier law schools, situated in the culturally rich city of Jodhpur, Rajasthan. Since its inception in 1999, the University has established itself as a hub of academic excellence, attracting a diverse student body from across the nation and producing lawyers of high professional and academic standards.
Erudite Legal, a distinguished law firm, is known for its comprehensive legal solutions across sectors. The firm advises PSUs, government ministries, and leading banking institutions while maintaining a strong litigation and regulatory practice.
Details about the Event
The essay competition is CELP’s flagship initiative aimed at encouraging original, interdisciplinary perspectives on law, economics, and public policy. The 2025 edition invites submissions on the central theme: “Viksit Bharat 2047: Envisioning India’s Journey to Development.” Essays should reflect critical insights into how legal and institutional reforms can catalyse inclusive and innovation-led growth.

Who is it for / Eligibility
Submissions are invited from students enrolled in:
Five-year or Three-year LL.B. programs
One-year or Two-year LL.M. programs
Any undergraduate or postgraduate degree in law or social sciences from a recognized Indian university
Location

The file must be named after the author/co-authors.
Fee Details
Single Author: ₹250
Co-Authored (2 authors): ₹400
Note: The registration fee is non-refundable.
Submission Guidelines
Word limit: 5000–7000 (exclusive of footnotes)
First page: Title + 200-word abstract
Second page: Table of contents
Formatting: Garamond, Font size 12, 1.5 spacing; Footnotes: Garamond, Font size 10, 1 spacing
Anonymity must be maintained – no personal or institutional identifiers in the manuscript
Plagiarism limit: 20% max; violation leads to disqualification

1st Prize: ₹11,000 + Certificate of Merit
