S’pore jails PIO on the Run for 30yrs in Murder Case

Arumugam Veerasamy was arrested in 2016.

A 61 year-old Malaysian man of Indian origin, who evaded arrest in a murder case for three decades, was sentenced to eightand-a-half years’ jail on Monday after pleading guilty to causing the death of his employer over unpaid wages in 1986.

Arumugam Veerasamy was arrested in 2016. He managed to evade arrest as his name was misspelt on his Singapore work permit and on the police gazette issued against him, Channel News Asia said.
