Parliament Monsoon Session: Rajya Sabha adjourned sine die

Members of the opposition continued to boycott Parliament proceedings over the suspension of 8 Rajya Sabha MPs & Centre’s refusal to accept their demand for withdrawing of the farm bills passed earlier.

Both, the Lok Sabha & Rajya Sabha were not left with any option but to hurriedly pass important bills in Parliament.

The Rajya Sabha has been adjourned sine die. The Monsoon Session, that was scheduled to go on till Oct 1st, was cut short in the wake of oronavirus crisis.

On Wednesday, Congress MP & Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad will meet President Ram Nath Kovind at 5 pm over the farm Bills & the suspension of the eight MPs, the news agency said.

Meanwhile, The Lower House will meet at 6 pm on Wednesday & is likely to cut short the session, people familiar with the matter said on condition of anonymity. The National Education Policy, underachievement of TB elimination program, domestic violence amid the Covid-19 pandemic are some of the topics that will be likely discussed.
