J Sagar Associates retains Sidleys Singapore’s Rishabh Gupta as Associate Partner

J Sagar Associates (JSA) has hired Rishabh Gupta as a retained partner in its private equity, corporate and securities practices.

Gupta is rejoining the JSA (which he had worked with from 2010 until 2016 previously) after a stint at Singapore capital markets powerhouse Sidley Austin from 2016-19.

In Singapore he was part of the team of Sidleys capital markets partner Manoj Bhargava.

Gupta is a 2010 NLSIU Bangalore graduate with a 2013 LLM from UPenn.

We have reached out to Bhargava and JSA for comment and will update the story when we hear from them.

Bhargava commented: “Rishabh became an important part of our India team during the three years he worked with us.

“His move adds to Sidley’s strong alumni network in India. We wish him the very best for this new role and look forward to working with him in the near future.”

JSA managing partners Amit Kapur and Vivek Chandy commented in a statement: “He is joining back after gaining valuable experience in capital market and international M&A transactions with Sidley Austin LLP, Singapore.

“We wish him a bright and successful career at JSA.”
