Advocate VR Kamalanathan has won the Presidential Election of Madras High Court Bar Association by getting 428 votes out of 626 votes polled.
Mr. D. Sreenivasan has been elected as Secretary, Mr. P Srinivas as Treasurer and Mr. N. Ramiah as librarian.
5 members have been elected for the Bar Association’s executive committee members, which include advocates R Hemalatha, V Ramesh, D Raja, YT Aravind Gosh and SK Chandrakumar
626 votes were polled in toto, out of which 622 were deemed valid.

The Madras Advocates' Association has hoary tradition. Started in 1889, a hundred years ago "for the purpose of mutual cooperation and a better safeguarding of the interests of the profession" the association has well and truly fulfilled its objectives. It has always strived to maintain the high traditions of the bar and a very high standard of professional conduct. The cordial relation between the bench and the bar in this state is in no small measure due to collective wisdom of the advocates' association of which the judge themselves were members before elevation to the bench.
