The President of India has assented to the appointment of two permanent judges to Calcutta High Court.

The notification issued by the Law Ministry notifies that “In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint

  1. Ms. Justice Ananya Bandyopadhyay and
  2. Smt. Justice Rai Chattopadhyay,

Additional Judges of Calcutta High Court, to be Judges of that High Court with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices.”
