The Registry of the Supreme Court is hosting a special programme to commemorate the first ever ‘International Day of Women Judges’ on 10 March, 2022.The online programme will commence at 5 pm. All the women Hon’ble Judges of the Constitutional Courts and all the women Judicial Officers from across the country are invited to join the programme, online.

Shri Justice N. V. Ramana, Hon’ble the Chief Justice of India, Ms. Justice Indira Banerjee, Ms. Justice Hima Kohli, Mrs. Justice B. V. Nagarathna and Ms. Justice Bela M. Trivedi, Hon’ble Judges of the Supreme Court will take part in the event from the Supreme Court of India.

The United Nations General Assembly has resolved on 28 April, 2021 to proclaim 10 March of each year as the ‘International Day of Women Judges’ and called upon the Member States to observe the same, ‘in order to promote the full and equal participation of women at all levels of the judiciary’. The resolution moved to this effect by Qatar in the UN General Assembly was sponsored by India, among others.
