The Governing Body of Consortium of National Law Universities On Friday unanimously elected Professor (Dr.) Vijender Kumar, Vice-chancellor of Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur as the convener of Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2021.

Kumar succeeds Prof. Balraj Chauhan who served as convener of CLAT 2020 which witnessed the withdrawal of National Law School of India University, Bengaluru (NLSIU) from the consortium leading to chaos and eventually culminating in litigation before the Supreme Court.

National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR) Vice-Chancellor professor Faizan Mustafa has been elected as the president of the Consortium of National Law Universities.

The consortium unanimously elected him as the president at its annual meeting.

Professor Poonam Saxena, Vice-Chancellor, NLU Jodhpur, has been elected the Vice President; Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2021; and professor V.C. Vivekanandan, Vice-Chancellor, HNLU, Raipur, as the member of the executive committee for CLAT-2021.

The new Executive Committee is expected to meet soon to work out and finalize the details of CLAT 2021.
