National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL) will get a new Vice-Chancellor from June 2023. Prof.( Dr.) Ashok Ramappa Patil has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor. Prof. Patil completed his B.Sc. ( Criminology and Forensic Science) in 1993. Following this, he completed his LL.B., LL.M. and PhD in Consumer Laws.

Following his brief stint as an Advocate of the Karnataka High Court, he joined as Lecture of KLES B.V. Bellad College and then took charge as the Law College's Principal. He later joined NLSIU, Bangalore and there rose through the ranks to finally become a Professor. He currently holds the position of Chair Professor on Consumer Law and Practice (Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Government of India) and is the Founder Director of the Online Consumer Mediation Center (Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Government of India). He has also been a fellow at the Asian Law Institute of the National University of SIngapore.

Prof. Patil shall continue as a Visiting Professor at NLSIU and he mentioned, "all the innovative initiatives I have taken at National Law School of India University, Bangalore from international journals, book publications and fundraising - I hope to implement at NUSRL, Ranchi as well."
