The President of India has assented to the appointment of one lawyer as Permanent Judges of the Orissa High Court.

The notification issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice has notified that “In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri Sanjay Kumar Mishra, to be a Judge of the Orissa High Court, with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office.”

Jharkhand High Court has sanctioned strength of 33 judges, working with 21 judges only. With these appointments the vacancies reduces to 11.
