A Digitization Wing at the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court was inaugurated by the Mr. Justice V.Ramasubramanian, Judge, Supreme Court of India and the Mr. Justice M.M.Sundresh, Judge, Supreme Court of India, in the august presence of the Mr. Justice Munishwar Nath Bhandari, the Acting Chief Justice and Mrs. Justice Pushpa Sathyanarayana, the Administrative Judge of the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court, and other companion Judges of the Madras High Court.

The Digitization Wing is in the process of digitizing approximately 1.50 crore pages of legacy case records / administrative files at the rate of 62,500 pages per day in 240 days from 24.11.2021. The process of weeding out of undesired part of the case records was commenced at the Madurai Bench in 2018 and as on date 1,29,752 case records consisting of 28,50,431 pages approximately have been made ready for digitization. Digitization of fresh and pending case records on the criminal side (bail / anticipatory bail) besides administrative files has been commenced with effect from 20.12.2021.
