The President of India has assented to the appointment of 6 new judges to the Madhya Pradesh High Court.

The notification issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice has notified that “In exercise of the power conferred by clause (I) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint S/Shri

  1. Maninder Singh Bhatti,
  2. Dwarka Dhish Bansal,
  3. Milind Ramesh Phadke,
  4. Amar Nath (Kesharwani),
  5. Prakash Chandra Gupta and
  6. Dinesh Kumar Paliwal,

to be Judges of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, in that order of seniority, with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices..

After the appointment of the new judges, the sitting strength og Madhya Pradesh High Court is 35 to the sanctioned strength of 53.
