Taking a serious view for wasting the court’s time, the Madras HC has imposed a cost of Rs 10,000 on a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) which sought to release the names of corporate companies who haven't repaid bank loans & to waive Rs 55,000 crores of educational loans across the country.

In his petition, A M Sundaravel, a resident of Tirunelveli district, moved the HC Madurai bench seeking for a direction to publish the name list of multinational corporate & private companies who haven't repaid bank loans in all the media, newspapers & websites for public view. When the petition was taken up for hearing on Thursday, a division bench of justice M Duraiswamy & justice T Ravindran took a serious view for wasting the court’s time & dismissed the petition.
