The Indian International Centre (Multipurpose Hall) witnessed a momentous occasion as Mr Piyush Gupta, Advocate, Member, Former Co-Chairman and Hony. Secretary, Bar Council of Delhi, authored the highly anticipated book, 'Uniform Civil Code: Towards Unified Bharat,' assisted by Isha Kapoor, Advocate and Jai Saini, Advocate in the presence of esteemed dignitaries.

Mr Piyush Gupta, Advocate, stated, “Certainly, this book has left a significant impression. As my grandfather emphasized, our nation is like a server, and it's time for us to bring about a positive change for it. As advocates, we acknowledge the importance of dispelling false rumours amongst ourselves. When discussing uniform laws, considering both penal and civil laws, we notice a conspicuous absence: the absence of a uniform family law. This gap has been highlighted in numerous instances and case studies. Undoubtedly, the necessity for a Uniform Civil Code is apparent. It becomes our ethical responsibility to ensure education reaches every level of society, addressing the fundamental aspects of justice for the people of India”.

Sh. Alok Kumar Ji’s address resonated. “I extend a heartfelt welcome to all the dignitaries present. The evolution of laws, from the regrettable practices of Sati and bal Vivah in the past to the acceptance of new reforms, has seen significant changes embraced by the masses. However, there is a noticeable lag in progress when it comes to laws concerning females. The newer laws highlight the need for a more comprehensive perspective. Divorce isn't solely about separation; it entails equal rights under the law. Some states have taken proactive steps in this direction. I anticipate that before 2024, there will be progress towards implementing a uniform civil code in Uttrakhand and Gujarat, particularly concerning scheduled tribes”.

Ms Aman Preet ji, took the podium amidst the gathering, her voice resonating with admiration and respect for the book's authors discussing the Uniform Civil Code. She spoke at length, honouring their unwavering dedication and sacrifice in unveiling the truth behind such a significant legal concept. Ms Aman Preet Ji’s words echoed the sentiments of many present as she passionately emphasized the authors' relentless efforts to shed light on a topic of immense importance, intricacies, and social relevance. She praised his commitment, acknowledging the challenges and sacrifices that likely accompanied their pursuit of truth. She highlighted the authors' perseverance, labour, and sacrifices, expressing profound gratitude for their contributions to society.
