Five Benches of the Punjab and Haryana High Court shall be hearing the cases through video conferencing (VC) from Wednesday onward.
The Benches which will hear the cases through video conferencing include the Bench of Justice Lisa Gill, Justice Anoop Chitkara, Justice Vinod S Bhardwaj, Justice Vikram Aggarwal, and Justice Alka Sarin.
The video conferencing links for the above Benches for the information of Advocates and party-in-person, has been mentioned in the cause list of October 4.
The move by the High Court comes days after the Supreme Court — on September 15 — had issued notice to the Registrar General of the High Court of Punjab and Haryana, over a petition by Sarvesh Mathur.
The petitioner, Mathur, had contended at SC that the video conferencing facilities which have been set up by the High Court of Punjab and Haryana are not being put to use and the High Court has completely disbanded the use of the video conferencing facilities.
