In a first, Nalsar University of Law has designated former governor and diplomat Gopalkrishna Gandhi and noted journalist and Ramon Magsaysay awardee P Sainath as ‘Distinguished Professors’.
Gandhi, grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, is a distinguished professor of history and politics at Ashoka University. He had served as governor of West Bengal between 2004 and 2009.

He also served as the high commissioner for India in South Africa, Lesotho, and Sri Lanka and as ambassador of India in Norway and Iceland.
P Sainath, who is the founder-editor of People’s Archive of Rural India and a veteran journalist with over 30 years of rural reporting under his belt., has also been designated as a ‘Distinguished Professor’ by Nalsar. tnn
