The Legal Services Authorities under the aegis of National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) moved Lok Adalat to the virtual platform known as ELok Adalat. The first E-Lok Adalat was held in Madhya Pradesh on 27.06.2020.

Law Minister Mr. Kiren Rijiju informed Lok Sabha that 49 E-Lok Adalats were organized all over the India in the year 2020. He replied to a question asked in Lok Sabha by a member that whether e-Lok Adalats were organized during 2020 in various States or not.

He further stated that allocation of funds to State/UT State Legal Services Authorities is made for all activities including expenses to be incurred in organization of Lok Adalat and ELok Adalat. Separate fund is not allocated for organization of Lok Adalat and ELok Adalat. During the current financial year, Rs. 100 crore has been allocated to NALSA at BE stage for conduct of their various activities including for Lok Adalats.

In E-Lok Adalats, 800397 cases were registered while 407327 cases were disposed off through thr amicable settlement.
