On Saturday, CJI TS Thakur stated that unpolluted and speedy justice was still a distant dream for the country, and also stressed upon the need to address the reasons for it. CJI Thakur was addressing 23rd Convocation of the Himachal Pradesh University,Chief Justice of India TS Thakur expounded that, When a Country was making rapid strides in the field of development, there was a need of corresponding up-gradation of the Justice Delivery system in which Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) Mechanism would play a greater role in the coming times.
CJI Thakur further enunciated that, “The Legislature and the Executive face a formidable challenge of removing poverty by preventing concentration of wealth in hands of few".
While referring to Himachal Pradesh CJI Thakur stated that it is a peaceful state which is inhabited by proud, handsome and respecting people, where there have been no communal riots, no disruptive and secessionist activities and also no serious law and order problem ever since State has come into existence.
He also congratulated the students for excelling in the field of academics and who had the honour of being decorated with the degrees and the gold medals.
