The Central Government of India has assented for the appointment of Justice P. S. Dinesh Kumar, senior most Judge of the Karnataka High Court as the acting Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court.

The notification issued by the Law Ministry notifies that “In exercise of the powers conferred by Article 223 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri Justice P. S. Dinesh Kumar, Judge of the Karnataka High Court, to perform the duties of the office of the Chief Justice of that High Court with effect from the date Shri Justice Prasanna B Varale relinquishes the charge of Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court consequent upon his elevation as a Judge of the Supreme Court of India.”
