The Supreme Court Collegium on 9 th September, 2021 has approved the proposal for appointment of the following Additional Judges as Permanent Judges in the Gauhati High Court:
1. Shri Justice Soumitra Saikia,
2. Shri Justice Parthivjyoti Saikia, and
3. Shri Justice S. Hukato Swu.
At present, the sanctioned Judge strength of the Gauhati High Court is 24 including the Hon'ble Chief Justice and 6 Additional Judges. Every Judge including the Chief Justice is appointed by the President of India by warrant under his hand and seal.
