The Union Cabinet in its meeting has decided to restore and continues Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) during the remaining part of Financial Year 2021-22 and up to Financial Year 2025-26.

During the remaining part of the FY 2021-22, the Ministry will release MPLADS funds at the rate of 2 crores per Member of Parliament in one instalment, on fulfilment of criteria for the release of first instalment of a Financial Year in accordance with extant MPLADS Guidelines.

During the period of FYs 2022-23 to 2025-26, the annual entitlement per Member of Parliament (MP) will remain at 5 crores which will be released in two instalments of 2.5 crore each, subject to the fulfilment of conditions as per the extant MPLADS Guidelines.

The entitlement of 2 crore of a Member of Parliament for the remaining period of 2021-22 will be admissible only if the tenure of Member of Parliament is more than 35 days in the remaining period of FY 2021-22.

The Nodal District Authorities are, therefore, requested to send proposals for the release of instalments, complete in all respects and duly signed like all relevant fund-related documents i.e. Monthly Progress Report (MPR), Utilization Certificate (UC), Provisional Utilization Certificate (PUC) and Audit Certificate (AC) and also fulfilling criteria of unspent and unsanctioned balance of funds as applicable, immediately, so as to enable this Ministry to process the same and be ready for release of funds under the Scheme subject to the allotment of funds by the Ministry of Finance in due course of time.
