The President of India has assented to the appointment of Justice Prakash Shrivastava as Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court.

The Notification states that “In exercise of the power conferred under the Constitution of India, Hon'ble President of India, in consultation with Hon'ble Chief Justice of India, is pleased to appoint Justice Prakash Shrivastava as Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court”.

Justice Prakash Shrivastava was the second senior most judge of Madhya Pradesh High Court.

About Justice Prakash Shrivastava

He was born on March 31, 1961.  He was enrolled as Advocate on February 2, 1987. He practised on Tax, Civil and Constitutional sides in the Supreme Court of India at New Delhi. He was appointed as Judge of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh on January 18, 2008 and Permanent Judge on January 15, 2010.
