Punjab Chief Minister-designate Bhagwant Mann has cleared the name of senior advocate Anmol Rattan Singh Sidhu for the position of Punjab Advocate General.

The position fell vacant after former advocate general Deepinder Singh Patwalia resigned on Friday, a day after AAP won the Punjab Assembly polls with a landslide victory.

Dr. Anmol Rattan Sidhu served as Assistant Solicitor General of India, Additional Advocate General, Haryana, President of the Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association, Chairman of the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana, and Deputy Advocate General, Government of Punjab. Dr. Sidhu served as the Dean, Faculty of Law, Punjab University, Chandigarh.
