During the 75th Constitution Day Celebration, Delhi High Court Chief Justice Manmohan underscored the judiciary’s vital role in ensuring justice is accessible to everyone, not just a select few. Addressing a gathering at the High Court, he emphasized the collective responsibility of the legal fraternity in maintaining public trust in judicial institutions while unveiling a Preamble plaque on the Court premises.

Chief Justice Manmohan reflected on the Constitution’s enduring legacy over the past 75 years, praising its framers, led by Dr B.R Ambedkar for envisioning a modern, inclusive India. He noted that the Constitution has been a guiding force through the nation’s challenges and triumphs, embodying the principle of unity in diversity. Justice Manmohan also highlighted the progress India has achieved in Social, economic and political spheres since the adoption of the Constitution in 1949. The event marked a call to action for the judiciary and legal professionals to ensure the rule of law is upheld and that rights guaranteed by the Constitution are enforced without bias. Justice Manmohan reminded attendees of the judiciary's critical role in being guardians of fairness, equality, and justice.

Chief Justice Manmohan stressed that access to justice must be a universal right, not a privilege for a few. He remarked on the judiciary’s responsibility to uphold constitutional values and interpret laws to ensure no individual or institution is above the law. Acknowledging the challenges facing the judiciary, he urged the legal fraternity to take bold steps to uphold citizens’ trust in the judicial system. Justice Manmohan highlighted the transformative impact of the Constitution, describing it as a beacon of hope for over a billion citizens and a testament to India’s commitment to inclusivity and unity.
