                                                            Vs.
State of Uttarakhand and others ..........Respondents

                                  Hon'ble Pankaj Purohit, J.

Mr. Mani Kumar, learned counsel for the petitioner.

2. Mr. N.S. Pundir, learned D.A.G. for the State.

3. This writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, challenging the order dated 19.08.2016, passed by Regional Selection Committee, whereby the candidature of the petitioner for Shailesh Matiyani Rajya Puruskar, 2015, was rejected and further to reconsider her candidature for the said State prize of 2015.

4. Since the writ petition was filed in the year 2018 considering the petitioner's candidature for the said 2015 Prize, the writ petition has rendered infructuous by efflux of time. The learned Deputy Advocate General for the State has informed that the Awardee was granted a two year extension of service and a certificate.

5. It is further submitted by the learned Deputy Advocate General for the State that the petitioner had already retired in the year 2018. It is also contended that the relief sought in the writ petition has, in substance, become of no use. Even on the merits of the case, the petitioner secured only 23 points, whereas respondent no.5-Smt. Vimla Joshi, secured 76 points and was accordingly awarded the aforesaid prize for the year 2015.

6. Accordingly writ petition stands dismissed.
