The present writ petition has been filed by the petitioner under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking a direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the respondents to shift the fish market presently operating in shops owned by the Nagar Nigam at Roorkee to Manglaur, on the ground that a new fish market, namely Naveen Machli Mandi, has been constructed at Manglaur at a cost of ₹5 crores.
