The Joint Secretary, Higher Education, Uttarakhand, vide his communication dated 19.02.2020, has invited options from the employees, in pursuance to the proposal of merger of the educational establishments in pursuance to which the petitioner contends that he has responded the same by submitting his option on 25.02.2020. The same is still pending consideration and no decision has been taken, as such on the same till date.

After having heard the learned counsel for the parties, we are of the view that at this stage, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, let the representation of the petitioner, as submitted by him on 19.08.2021, for consideration of his option may be decided by the respondents within a period of six weeks from the date of presentation of the certified copy of this judgment.

Subject to the above observation, the writ petition stands disposed of.
