                          JUDGMENT

WPSB No. 70 of 2017 filed by petitioner was allowed by Division Bench of this Court vide order dated 14.02.2017 and respondents were directed to grant maternity leave to the petitioner from 15.10.2016 to 24.12.2016, subject to verification of the averments made in the writ petition. It was further provided that petitioner shall also be entitled to get regular salary. Alleging wilful disobedience of said order, this contempt petition was filed.

2. A compliance affidavit has been filed by Dr. Ranjan Srivastava, Head, Department of Horticulture College of Agriculture, G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar. In para 4 of the said affidavit, it has been stated that maternity leave w.e.f. 15.10.2016 to 24.12.2016 was sanctioned to the petitioner and a sum of `82,580/-

has also been paid as salary to the petitioner for the aforesaid period.

3. No rejoinder affidavit/objection to the compliance affidavit has been filed by the petitioner. Learned counsel for the petitioner is also not in a position to dispute the averments made in para 4 of the compliance affidavit.

4. In such view of the matter, there is no reason to disbelieve the averments made in para 4 of the compliance affidavit and it can safely be inferred that compliance of the order has been made.

5. Accordingly, contempt petition is closed. Notices issued to the respondents are hereby discharged.
